Draft Plan of Subdivision Approval for Phase 1

The future Arbo neighbourhood at Downsview is another step closer to enabling housing!

Canada Lands Company received approval from the City of Toronto for its Draft Plan of Subdivision for Phase 1 at Arbo located at 1350 Sheppard Avenue West. As one of the final steps in the planning process, this approval divides the property into lots for development and amenities. Phase 1 consists of three development blocks which will enable 1,400 homes, including 20% of which will be affordable. The Phase 1 Draft Plan of Subdivision approval implements the layout and property boundaries of the Arbo District Plan, which Canada Lands has worked on together with the local community since 2019.

The future neighbourhood will be built with an existing and significant natural heritage woodlot and a new ecological park at its core. Arbo’s vision will provide a vibrant transit-oriented community that offers a mix of housing and set a precedent for thoughtful urban development.
