Ecological Management Plan Approved for the Arbo Woodlot

The Ecological Management Plan (EMP) for the Arbo woodlot has been approved by the City of Toronto (Ravines and Natural Feature Protection). The EMP details how the woodlot will be restored, protected and enhanced over time. The plan will guide integration of the three existing woodlot blocks with the new Ecological Park, creating a stronger natural environment for the future neighbourhood.

The EMP is a long-term stewardship roadmap designed to protect and strengthen the woodlot as the neighbourhood evolves. It supports biodiversity, improves ecological resilience and prioritizes the health of the woodlot. The plan outlines priorities such as habitat enhancement, invasive species removals and management, trail planning and enjoyment by residents and community members.

Over the next 1-2 years, Canada Lands Company will be working with the City on detailed landscape plans for the removal of invasive plant species and the new planting of existing species from the woodlot.
